City
Chengdu
is the capital of Sichuan Province and is situated
in the western plain of the Sichuan Basin. Its urban
area covers 1,404 square km and its population is
1.34 million. This this is one of the famous historical
and cultural cities in China with temperate climate
and rich produce, known as "heaven".
Attractions
Chief
tourist scenic spots include the Thatched Cottage
of Du Fu, Wuhou Temple, Dujiang River Wier, Qingcheng
Hill, Beoguang Temple, Wangjianglo Park, Panda City
and the Tomb of Wang Jian, etc. Tourists can also
go to appreciate the Great Buddha Statue at Leshan
and Emei Mountain by coach.

famous handicrafts include Sichuan brocade, Sichuan
embroidery, Lacquerware and porcelain body bamboo
ware, etc. On Chengdu streets visitors can taste authentic
museums

dishes and stuffed dumplings made of glutinous rice
flour serve in soup, Sichuan noodles with peppery
sauce, husband-and-wife pig lung slices and other
